What is RENOVA^® (tretinoin cream) 0.02%?

RENOVA is a prescription medicine that may reduce fine facial wrinkles. It must be used under the guidance of your doctor as part of a total skin-care and sunlight-avoidance program.

RENOVA has not been studied beyond 52 weeks of use, or in patients with actinic keratosis (AK) or a history of skin cancer.

What is the Most Important Information about RENOVA?

RENOVA is a serious medicine. Do not use RENOVA if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant. If you do become pregnant during treatment, contact your doctor right away.

Avoid sunlight and other medicines that may increase your sensitivity to sunlight (ask your doctor for a list of these medicines). Use sunscreen and protective clothing if sun exposure cannot be avoided.

RENOVA does not remove wrinkles or repair sun-damaged skin.

Do not use RENOVA if:

• you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant; contact your doctor if you become pregnant during treatment
• your skin is sunburned or irritated; RENOVA can increase the chance of sunburn and increase irritation
• you are highly sensitive to sunlight
• you are allergic to any of the ingredients in RENOVA

Tell your doctor if you have any skin condition, or if you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines to make sure you can use them with RENOVA. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding.

Avoid the following during treatment with RENOVA: sunlight; other skin medicines; medicated or abrasive (rough) soaps; permanent wave solutions; chemical hair removers or waxes; electrolysis; products with alcohol, spices, astringents or lime; cleaners; shampoos or cosmetics with a strong drying effect; and other products that may irritate your skin.

Possible side effects of RENOVA can include a feeling of warmth or stinging after application. Most patients report peeling, dry skin, burning, stinging, itching, and redness. In medical studies, some patients experienced severe side effects that led to discontinuation or use of additional treatment. Contact your doctor if side effects are a problem.
